Powerfest April 2021: Schedule, Warranties, Main Events

While PokerStars and GGPOKERCK are competing at SCOOP and GG Spring, offering players a total of over 600 events and $ 250M in guarantees, partypoker is at its usual pace, announcing a smaller but attractive Powerfest series for April 9-27. We will talk about it in this material.

A brief history of Powerfest

The Powerfest series hit partypoker in 2016 and quickly gained popularity among players. At the same time, the very first Powerfest in February – March 2016 was a trial one – it was not given a serial number, like all subsequent ones, and it is not on the partypoker website’s Powerfest page.

A feature of the series was the division of tournaments into weight categories by buy-in, and the events of each category lasted one week:

  • Featherweight (Lightweight) – from $ 5.50 to $ 11;
  • Middleweight – from $ 22 to $ 55;
  • Heavyweight – from $ 109 to $ 215;
  • High Roller – from $ 530 to $ 5.2K.

Over the years, Powerfest has amassed a prize pool of $ 5M to $ 121M. The series had the largest prize pool in March – April 2020, when the pandemic hit the world and many people were sitting at home playing poker.

We have collected for you a summary of the results of each “season” for 2016 – 2020 in the table below.

Powerfest Schedule April 2021

The announcement of Powerfest in 2021 looked rather strange: it did not and still does not have a general guarantee of the series, the exact number of tournaments and information about any related promotions. Most likely, partypoker was waiting until recently for information about the plans of competitors in order to release a more competitive streak within its capabilities.

As of April 4, 66 events with buy-ins from $ 1.10 to $ 25K appeared in the Powerfest section of the partypoker lobby, 65 of them in NLH, PLO so far only one – $ 5.2K High Roller $ 250K Gtd. We have calculated the total guarantee for published events – it is slightly more than $ 12.5M.

Powerfest Tournament Streams

partypoker announced no more than 3 streams with open cards, but no exact dates. Two of them will definitely be from the Main Event and one of the high roller tournaments. The platform for streaming, as usual, will be Twitch – for the English-speaking audience, the partypokerTV channel, for the Russian-speaking audience – partypokerRU.
