In today’s article on Pokeroff, we will tell you two different stories of poker lovers from London and Neftekumsk. People are different and their stories are equally motivating.
Fired from work, put a black eye and sent to the WSOP
Possibly the most exciting week in the life of a 26-year-old poker enthusiast Ryan Osman… He was fired from an IT company, where he worked for 9 years, then he got a black hole in an amateur boxing match, and it all ended with his recent victory in a poker tournament, where he won a ticket to the WSOP in Las Vegas.
There is an English-speaking group of poker fans on Facebook called OnlyHands, where the hero of today’s material is. Together with GGPoker, the group’s administrators organized a subscriber meeting at London’s Aspers Casino, where the main event was a 6-max SNG with a $ 15,000 ticket to the WSOP Main Event in Las Vegas. Among the participants were two representatives of GGPoker: UFC star Paddy Pimblett and streamer Lucas Robinson.
Success story: how simple guy Lucas Robinson became a poker pro in 100 days
Ryan Osman got into the game completely by accident – he was not among the participants, but at the last moment one seat was vacated. In the OnlyHands group, a random drawing was held for several hundred people and the hero was lucky.
After two hours of play, Hero went heads-up with Lucas Robinson … and lost to him… This did not surprise anyone, because Lucas has significant experience in the game compared to the average amateur.
But everyone wants a Moneymaker-style story, and the GGPoker streamer gave Osman the win and took £ 1,000 for himself for second place. The hobbyist will travel to the WSOP in Las Vegas for the chance to win the so-called “life-changing money” in the Main Event. Robinson explained his noble gesture by the fact that he was already going to go to the WSOP anyway.
When Lucas gave me the surprise, my jaw dropped. I have never experienced such a shock. This is one of the happiest moments of my life, which I celebrated all night.
As it turned out, Osman was the first to play poker within the walls of a casino. He also revealed that he plans to follow a simple strategy for the WSOP Main Event – “At first I will play aggressively, then more tightly”.
“The main thing is to believe in yourself !!! And everything will work out “
Magomed Mosoev from Neftekumsk beat the stars in the last issue “Evening Poker”… In two seasons of filming a poker show, he became the first satellite to win.
Evening Poker is a poker show that goes on YouTube, produced by Artur Voskanyan and Roman Emelyanov. Usually 6 people participate in the game, of which five are invited stars and one participant who qualified for GGPOKEROK. The filming of the program takes place in Moscow.
Magomed’s path to victory was not short, both figuratively and literally. Neftekumsk is the Stavropol Territory, almost 1600 kilometers from Moscow. To get an invitation to shoot, Magomed needed:
- Participate in a random draw of tickets for the “Evening Poker” qualifier. He managed to become one of the five lucky ones who received a ticket for $ 21
- Win the satellite at GGPOKEROK with 212 participants
Well, then it’s a matter of technology. In total, it was necessary to win in the 6-max CIS, where the opponents were:
- Pavel Dvoretsky – tiktoker and youtuber
- Danila Yakushev – theater and film actor
- Sergey Ashikhmin – ex-soloist of the group “Yin-Yang”
- Alexander Khimchuk – musician, leader of the ESTRADARADA group
- Daria “Darya_Kurt” Krashennikova – professional poker player, streamer
As far as we know, the laconic Magomed received a cup and $ 2000 for the victory. He was personally congratulated by Artur Voskanyan and Mikhail Semin at the end of the program – see the video in Instagram… Under the same post, Magomed thanked everyone who supported him and added: “The main thing is to believe in yourself !!! And everything will work out 🔥🔥🔥 “
