The July headlining series at GGPOKEROK has come to an end. Summing up the Battle Of Malta in today’s article on Pokeroff.
Main Event: Raggaz Winner, Urbanovic Third
For five dozen starting flights, the € 3M guarantee in the Main Event of € 550 was beaten – the prize fund was € 3.4M. On July 25, Day 2 took place, where almost 1000 people moved.
The game for the first prize € 378,285 and the special trophy lasted about nine hours – unfortunately without a live broadcast. The only final table player we know of was Dmitry Urbanovich (Dzmitry Urbanovich), recently retired from the partypoker professional team. He went 9-max with 10.7 bb short stack, but doubled a couple of times and ended up in 3-max.
Being the second stack, Dima wanted to share. But when it came to discussion, he unchecked the necessary box with the words that he wanted to take a chance. The risk was not justified and Urbanovic was eliminated in third place (€ 212,724) – his last hand in the BoM Main Event can be viewed in our telegram channels.
The first place went to an unknown player from Australia under the nickname Raggaz (€ 378,285). According to SharkScope, he played 1,700 ABI170 tournaments at GGPOKEROK with a score of + $ 500,000.
TonyGPT is the best player in the series and sells stakes at odds of 2
Even before the start of the series, a mysterious player caught our eye Sergio “TonyGPT” Veloso (Sérgio Veloso) – player flying the Croatian flag in public sold shares to APL (Asian Poker League) tournaments with odds of 2, which is quite cocky considering his average ROI of 8.6% over a distance of 6400 ABI120 GGPOKER tournaments.
Apparently Sergio is really good considering that he has become the best player on the Battle Of Malta leaderboard. He received a participant package in the next offline stage of the Battle Of Malta worth € 3200 (includes 7 nights in a 5-star hotel, travel expenses, as well as a ticket to the Main Event and High Roller).
Judging by the same SharkScope, his best result in the series was the 5th place in the € 330 # 4 Three Cities Challenge tournament (€ 13,773). The player did not have any other large ITMs.
